The Society makes significant contributions to conservation and endeavors to encourage the community's interest and enjoyment of the Zoo. ==History== In 2010, the enclosure of the bald eagle habitat - Eagle Creek - was destroyed by the heavy record snow fall. Funded by a gift in memory of a local Navy veteran of WWII, The Society/ZooFriends rebuilt a new home for the eagles. The New Walter Trettin Snow Leopard Habitat & House. Thanks to a major gift by ZooFriends Walter Trettin, our new Snow Leopard House & Habitat is nearing completion. The holding building includes a maternity den with nesting room and two spacious private dens for a pair of snow leopards and their future family. Health, safety, and comfort amenities - like HVAC - for the cats and the keepers are important features of this facility. The design gives better access to the animals for keepers and veterinary staff. The 2,500 sq. ft. outdoor exhibit is covered in an almost-invisible steel mesh. And visitors will have a memorable encounter with these rare and intriguing cats nose-to-nose through a large glass wall - gift in memory of Jane Betty McHugh. The new facility will allow our zoo to continue to be vital participant in the Species Survival Plan (SSP) for snow leopards. The SSP oversees breeding of all endangered species in zoos worldwide. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Cape May County Park & Zoo」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
